2025 Dauphin County Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) Public Review & Meetings

The 2025 Dauphin County Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) update is complete. The HMP documents the risks faced by the county and its communities, an analysis of stakeholder capabilities, and a set of goals, objectives, and actions to reduce vulnerability across the county. The draft HMP is available for review at: www.dauphincountyhmp.com/draft-plans/. Please visit the site and review the document posted there.

The public review period will be from February 10, 2025, to March 10, 2025, so please provide any feedback/comments via the following link: http://bit.ly/3WTZQxE.

Steelton Borough Council Vacancy

Date: February 4, 2025

Submission Deadline: February 17, 2025, no later than 4:00 PM

Term: Term to begin upon appointment by Council and expires on January 4th, 2026.

At the February 3, 2025 Steelton Borough Council Meeting, Borough Council took official action to accept the tendered resignation of Mr. Brian Proctor as a council member.

Borough Council announced plans to seek Mr. Proctor’s successor through a public outreach campaign. Pennsylvania Borough Code dictates that applicants for this office must be registered electors of Steelton Borough. Letters of interest and accompanying resumes will be accepted through February 17, 2025, no later than 4:00 p.m.

Basic Candidate Legal Qualifications: (both qualifications must be met to apply)

  • Registered Elector in the Borough of Steelton
  • Continuous residency in the Borough of Steelton for at least one year immediately prior to the appointment

Required Council Meeting Attendance:

  • For the remainder of 2025: Borough Council meets every month on the first and third Monday at 6:30 PM, as well as other meetings as they arise.

NOTE: Borough Council will interview applicants for the vacancy and potentially adopt a resolution appointing an individual to serve in the open Borough Council seat at 6:30 p.m. on March 3, 2025, during the regularly scheduled Council meeting.
