Steelton Borough Announces “Lend a Hand” Community Garden Event: A Community Collaboration to Enhance Borough Pride and Aesthetics
Steelton, PA—Steelton Borough is proud to present the “Lend a Hand ~Community Garden Event~,” an opportunity for residents and local leaders to come together and beautify the community, fostering unity and pride. This two-day event, taking place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, and Sunday, September 29, 2024, will offer a space for residents to leave a lasting mark on their community—literally.
The residents are invited to place their handprints as a symbol of unity and support for the borough. The wall will stand as a permanent reflection of the community’s strength and shared vision for the future. Residents will also have the opportunity to tour the community garden and learn more about urban gardening and agriculture.

– 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Community Wall Handprint Event
– 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: After Party at Full Circle Music, Inc.

Sunday, September 29, 2024
– 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Community Wall Handprint Event and completion of mural.
Location: S. 3rd St. & Mohn St., Steelton, PA (Mohn Street Park)
International Fine Artist Dionn Reneé will guide attendees in the artistic process of decorating the Mohn Street Park wall. In a special segment of the project, a section of the wall will be dedicated to honor the memory of loved ones who are no longer with us, symbolizing beauty and fortitude within the community.
Special Guests
Steelton Borough Mayor Ciera Dent, the funders of the park, along with other key community leaders, will be present to share words of encouragement and connect with residents throughout the event.
Entertainment & Vendors
Full Circle Music, Inc. will provide music and entertainment, setting the tone for the event with a sound system and DJ. Vendors and food trucks are invited to participate, and they may contact Steelton Borough for further information on how to get involved.
After Party at Full Circle Music
Following Saturday’s garden event, participants are invited to attend an after party at Full Circle Music in Harrisburg, just 10 minutes away. This gathering will feature complimentary entertainment and additional speeches. Attendees are also welcome to set up promotional tables or share flyers, brochures, and other materials during the event.
Steelton Borough is excited to see the community come together to “Lend a Hand” and create a brighter, more beautiful future for everyone. This event will not only enhance the borough’s aesthetics but also strengthen community ties and demonstrate the pride we all share in our hometown.
